Default Create Your Own DC Ultimate Alliance!?

I was a huge fan of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games back in the day (and the X-Men Legends ones) and being that I’m a huge DC fan, I always wanted to see a DC version of those games. I know they attempted one with Justice League Heroes, but that didn’t quite catch on. So I ask you, if you were put in charge of coming up with a DC version, what would it look like? Playable characters and story wise.

For me, I’d have 24 playable characters to choose from, all the characters pictured above, and it would feature both a story mode where you go after the Legion of Doom and their “subordinates” as well as an arcade mode that’s like a fighting game (like MK: Shaolin Monks).

The Legion would consist of Lex Luthor (with Superman villains), Joker (with Batman villains), Cheetah (with Wonder Woman villains), Gorilla Grodd (with Flash villains), Sinestro (with Green Lantern villains), Black Manta (with Aquaman villains), Deathstroke (with Titan Villains), and Black Adam (with JSA villains). I’d call the game DC All Stars or something like that.

Darkseid is back up to the his old shenanigan - he and his Apokoliptan subordinates have once again set their sights on conquering the universe, and it's up to the Justice League Unlimited to stop them! Featuring characters from not just the League but the Batfamily, the Superfamily, the Arrow family, Teen Titans, and more, it's up to you to put a stop to Darkseid's reign of terror! JLU takes you from the corners of the Earth to the deepest deaths of the DC Universe, including the Vega System and Apokoliptan space.

There would be of course team bonuses based on the teams of four that you put together, including the Teen Titans, Classic Justice League, Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights, Superfamily, etc.

    The roster would be:

    Superman
    Batman
    Wonder Woman
    Martian Manhunter
Green Lantern (Hal, John, and Guy based on alternate costumes)
The Flash (Barry, but with Wally-based costumes)
    Aquaman
    Hawkgirl
    Black Canary
    Robin (Dick Grayson)
    Starfire
    Raven
    Cyborg
    Beast Boy
    Wonder Girl (Donna Troy)
    Harley Quinn
    Deadshot
    Killer Frost
    Captain Boomerang
    Shazam
    Zatanna
    Mera
    Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)
    Catwoman
    Supergirl
    Black Lightning
    Katana
    Geo-Force
    Halo
    Green Arrow
    Orion
    Big Barda
    Mister Miracle
Bekka (ala Justice League Gods and Monsters)
    Vixen
    Dr Fate

Man I've been fantasizing about a game like this for AGES. I'm actually kinda surprised JL Heroes was their only attempt at making one. Especially it was so....half-assed.

Story-wise, I wouldn't go for anything too complicated. MUA and MUA3 keep it simple and I like that. Some kind of world (or universe) ending threat emerges and it takes all of earth's greatest heroes (maybe even some villains) to stop it. The obvious choices would be Darkseid and Braniac but I wouldn't be opposed to, like, Trigon or Superboy-Prime either. Honestly, this could just be an extended adaption of the No Justice event.

Gameplay-wise, I'd probably go with MUA2 since I really liked the combo moves in that game. I don't know if I'd borrow anything from MUA3. I liked it but the only new thing it really brought to the table was that terrible leveling system.

As for the roster, I wanna try and get a nice mix of the more well known teams. It helps that a lot of characters can be used as alternate skins (because of course I'm gonna have as many costume options as the first MUA game).

    Justice League:
    - Superman (With Conner as one of his Alt. Skins)
    - Wonder Woman (With Donna and Cassie as Alt. Skins)
    - Batman (With Terry and Luke as Alt. Skins)
    - Martian Manhunter (With Miss Martian as an Alt. Skin)
    - Aquaman
    - Hal Jordan (With John, Kyle, and Guy as Alt. Skins)
    - Wally West (With Barry and Bart as Alt. Skins)
    - Zatanna
    - Green Arrow (With Arsenal as an Alt. Skin)
    - Black Canary

    Titans:
    - Nightwing
    - Starfire
    - Raven
    - Beast Boy
    - Cyborg

    Batfamily:
    - Robin
    - Red Robin
    - Red Hood
    - Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)(With Cassandra and Stephanie as Alt. Skins)

(I thought about Damian and Tim being alt skins for each other but their fighting styles are different enough to justify making them two characters)

    Others:
    - Harley Quinn
    - Lex Luthor
    - Katana
    - Mera (with Tempest as an Alt. Skin)
    - Bronze Tiger
    - Deathstroke
    - Catwoman

Team Bonuses include (but aren't limited to)

    - Justice League (Any 4 League members. This includes Cyborg)
    - Teen Titans (Any 4 Titans. This includes Robin, Red Robin, and any Titan that's an alternate skins)
    - Batfamily (Any 4 Batfamily Members)
    - Birds of Prey (Batgirl, Harley, Black Canary, Catwoman, Katana)
    - Killer Instinct (Robin, Harley, Red Hood, Deathstroke, Bronze Tiger)
    - Powerhouse (Superman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, Starfire)
    - Powerless (any non Meta or Magic character)
    - Young Justice (Red Robin, Cassie, Conner, Bart)

    DC: Worlds at War

Premise: The multiverse is under attack by an unknown enemy and it’s up to some of the greatest teams in the DCU to get to the bottom of the mystery. The fate of many worlds are at stake here.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Black Canary

TITANS: Nightwing, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Terra, Static, Blue Beetle

SUICIDE SQUAD: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Boomerang, Killer Frost, El Diablo, King Shark

LEGION OF DOOM: Lex Luthor, Joker, Cheetah, Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, Deathstroke

JUSTICE SOCIETY: Black Adam, Shazam, Dr Fate, Stargirl, Cyclone, Atom Smasher

DOOM PATROL: Robotman, Elasti-Woman, Crazy Jane, Negative Man

I would so buy this game, especially with this roster!
Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

I really like your list. . . Strikes me as MOST OF THE PEOPLE who've crossed media lines.... I think... No I'm sure.

    Few things. . .
Alternate Lines and the such for Ted Kord. I'm a Reyes fan but... yea might as well.
Also Mr. Terrific has his own book he's set up to be a major player especially if there's a multiversal element like some of the storylines above suggest.
    Hawkgirl ~ Hawkman.

But most importantly we're gonna need playable villians or anti-heroes hidden unlockables.

    Lets get...

The Atomic Skull (dude supposed to think he's rightfully a hero iirc)
    Manchester Black
    Ares
    Clayface
Atrocitus/Or Rage Guy Garnder/Someone with a Green Lantern ring.
    And.... Deathstroke

Stuff like that. Marvel Had: Doom/Magneto/Carnage/Venom/ Green Goblin(hobgoblin) and so on.

No muss no fuss. Spotlight some badguys too. Depending of course on the story.
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
    Everything else is irrelevant.

I think it's too bad nobody seems to like Justice League Heroes. Clearly Marvel Ultimate Alliance was better but still a fun game.

They really screwed the pooch on that one. IIRC The main difference that stood out to me was the mediocre leveling system and ... more importantly having to play certain characters on certain levels.

Look at the above lists... pick two characters you don't particularly care for then you have to play as them for 2 levels in the game. Not using the powers you like the best. . . smh fail.

The key thing is that you need to have a LOOOOT of heroes to chose from, but amongst them even if you only had 12 (like the X-men games before alliance) its a lot better to let the player decide who they run throught the
    game as.
For example: If I wanna play as Dove from hawk and dove, but I'm only allowed to play as her on stage 3, its kinda miserable knowing that she's there and blocked off from the battle with brainiac or whoever. It think hawk and dove were recently in the teen titans show so there's gonna be someone who's like "Oooh, DC GAME Hawk and DOVE!!!..." or doom patrol or swampthing or whatever.

Now the cutscences and speaking parts can be told however dc wants but you need at LEAST the option to NOT be stage locked. There are some REALLY good Isometric games out there its seems relatively easy to look at things like:
Torchlight, Path of Exile... and so on a so forth to get all the mechanics that are the best and put a dc skin over it. Add to that a compelling story, and rich cast... you could have a hit game pretty easily depending on
the strength of the dc properties overall.
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
    Everything else is irrelevant.

so what would it take for DC corporate and Warner Bros. to take a proposal like this seriously? who oversees video game development?
