Reed and Johnny have both "supposedly" died. Johnny, in actuality, but being revived many times. Ben, I am less likely to put in that category, as it was so short and never had the feel of permanence that Reed and Johnny had. To be a comic book death IMO is to have the story go on as if the event had really occurred and was permanent.

I think Reed and Johnny were the only ones that really lasted more than a year or so. (discounting Secret Wars etc.)

Doubt it'd be any of the kids either. Valeria already kind of "died" already in the 80's, and there was that weird storyline with Franklin as an adult in the 90s that effectively wrote the young Franklin out for a bit.

    Alicia maybe?

I think the events after Secret Wars should count because it was basically the same out come as killing Sue, Reed, and the kids. They were gone for years from comics and the characters in-universe thought they were dead. We knew they would come back eventually, but that's the same as any death in comics.

That's correct. It was during the Millar/Hitch run IIRC.

Reed's death held for quite a long time. It was a little over 2 years ...from FF #381 to #407. One version I read was that because Marvel wanted all the major characters back for Onslaught, which lead to Image taking over various titles for a year.

Yep. They killed her off in Fantastic Four A Death in the Family.

True, but said death and the future Sue death is not the same as the supposed Reed and Johnny deaths. Personally, I am tired of these trick deaths. They should leave a character dead and if they want to bring him or her back, then bring the same character in from an alternate Universe.
