Saw the sequel never saw the original

The ones I thought of first have been said. For ones I've only seen the sequels, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Still haven't seen the first two. Still have never seen Rocky all the way through. More recently, Despicable Me 2 and Minions. Still haven't seen the first one.

Another couple I just thought of was James Bond and Godzilla.

I think I saw a bunch of Bond movies before I actually got around to the first one. I don't even remember which I saw first, but I'm certain it wasn't Dr. No.

Same with Godzilla. The biggest appear to me of the Godzilla series was seeing the Big G fight other monsters, Thus the original didn't have anywhere near the same appeal to me.
