I saw Toy Story 3 first. I have never sat down to fully watch the first 2 films.

I saw Sherek 2 first before Sherek 1, another movie I have never watched from beginning to the end.

In fact, many people don't even know that it's a sequel.

Then there are movies where I saw the sequel first and the original years later. Terminator 3 before Terminator 2, and Terminator 2 before Terminator. The Dark Knight before Batman Begins. I don't even remember which Mission: Impossible movie I saw first, but it definitely wasn't the original.
Silence of the Lambs is completely unrelated to Manhunter, so not a real sequel.

Just to add... the first Princess Diaries (IMO at least) was way better.

Though a sequal not living up to the original is not unsual, it's particularly true for a lot of Disney movies. The originals are often meant to be "happily ever after" while the sequals just being cash grabs after they realise they can make an extra buck afterwards.

Yeah, from what I understand Cradle 1 the Grave is a hard one to find.

Apocryphally, the film adaptation of The Madness Of King George III dropped the reginal number from the end because they were afraid audiences would stay away because they thought they'd missed the first two.

I’m pretty sure, when I think about it, that I saw Evil Dead 2 first.

Now I wish I had seen FANT4STIC so I could make a joke about never having seen FANT1STIC, FANT2STIC or FANT3STIC.

I don't know if this counts, but I saw Return of the Jedi (1983) before The Empire Strikes Back (1980)...

Also, I may have seen Return of the Jedi (1983) before A New Hope (1977). But sadly, I don't remember. TT^TT

I saw Gremlins 2 before the first one.

Rambo(saw the 2008 movie before any of the originals).

Bond franchise(seen the Brosnan and Craig movies, but none of the Connery and Moore ones).

Harold & Kumar(seen the first and third, but not the second).

Child's Play(First one I saw was near the end of the second, then the third and then Bride Of Chucky. I didn't see the first and all of the second movie until months later).

Lethal Weapon 4 was the first one I saw.

I've watched Rocky Balboa, but none of the ones that came beforehand.

The Spider Man reboot sequel with with Andrew Garfield we saw it on a whim because there was nothing else and I usually wouldn't do that but I already knew the comic lore, and I explained to my mother whatever she didn't understand.
