And maybe Franklin has forgotten a birthday party. They don’t show him talking with the others to explain the situation after his conversation with his mother.

This preview perfectly exemplifies how stupid the conflict in 4X was.

There’s indeed a distinct lack of tension in this beginning.

It is weird that even in a peaceful and happy environment, they still wear uniforms instead of regular clothes. They are obviously just relaxing together, not preparing for some mission. It wouldn't be so bad if each of them had their own unique costume, instead of this generic boring uniform, but even then it would be still weird.

Mutants wear their uniforms regularly now ("mutant clothing") and Franklin wants to be cool, so.

Honestly, i would not mind the X-Office losing the grip with some mutants and seeing them more often in other books, especially the ones who almost dont have screen time.

Teen Bobby was forced back into the closet when the Teen O5 went back to the past

Adult Bobby didn't come out until Uncanny 600. And he didn't remember being Teen Bobby until the climax of Extermination.

iirc it was something about not wanting to dress in human fashion and instead be dressed for mutant culture. I think it was brought up in passing in one of the early DoX books.
