Default Next Wonder Woman Graphic Novel To Highlight Real Life Female Icons

Borrowing the same name as the old backup feature, Wonder Women of History is curated by Laurie Halse Anderson, and brings together 18 creative teams—made up of female-identifying and nonbinary writers and artists—to highlight contemporary women from politics and activism, popular culture and sports, science and industry, and other fields that “take up Wonder Woman’s iconic mantle” as champions of noble causes. Here’s the full list of featured women, and their creative teams, announced by DC Comics today:

Kind of weird that, as far as I can tell, Shi Zhengli is the only non-American. I would have thought Greta Thunberg would have been a good pick if you're being more global.

I do like that they picked modern reps instead of historical figures though.

The graphic novel's title is "Wonder Women of History", but the description says it's highlighting contemporary women...

I think this is a decent idea. I know books like "The good night stories for rebel girls" are very popular among girls right now; my daughter has inhaled more than one of them, and it makes sense to associate it with Diana.

So the concept is solid, now it's all down to execution.
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
