Am I the only one who likes Pre movie Star Lord better?

Or more specifically Dan Abnett Star Lord since Star Lord has been repackaged several times prior to the movie. I enjoyed Pratt Star Lord for the MCU but ever since the movie Star Lord has been a grade A dumbass. I've always said this but the movies should always compliment or supplement the comics not to replace them. I understand the logic from a business perspective but I still don't think it is good for the medium. It'd be like Harry Potter reprints to change things about the books to be more like the movies. Simply put I just don't find either MCU Star Lord or the current Star Lord interesting and just come off as more funny marvel heroes trope. Like I see people say pre mcu star lord was boring or bland but whenever I press on about what makes him uninteresting it is simply because he doesn't joke as much
