Meanwhile, Dallas could be looking at a wee bit of a quarterback dilemma. The Cowboys are on their bye this week before their November 22nd game against Minnesota, Andy Dalton will probably be done with concussion protocol by then (if he isn't already), but do they shelve Garrett Gilbert who was passably (pardon the pun) good yesterday against Pittsburgh?
Gilbert could have won that game but decisions by McCarthy cost them. One key deal was the team was in red zone driving and came up on 4th and inches. Romo said its 4th and inches and a QB sneak will get that easy. That they should go for it as the team needed to get more scores ahead of Pittsburgh. Instead McCarthy kicked a FG. Next series Pittsbugh scores a TD and we saw how it went.

Agreed. McCarthy's playcalling was head scratching to say the least. That said, it'll be interesting to see if he retains his place on WBE's head coach hot seat list.

McCarthy is movin' on up the list like he was the theme song to the Jeffersons... mostly because someone ahead of him also got a win.

Pittsburgh also got a couple of very close penalty calls their way to keep the go ahead drive away. And I agree that not going for 4th and inches was a mistake.

Meanwhile Brees is up 3 on the all time TD passes list. This record will go to whoever stays in the league the longest.

No it won't ... it will be whoever retires last out of these 2.

If Mahomes doesn't get hurt and keeps his current pace up as a star QB , he could torch that passing TD record in 8-9 seasons possibly. Its if he keeps up production and keeps healthy he could be right there for it.

That is what I said. Stays longest, leaves last. Same thing.

Not sure how it will affect your hot seat list, but Stephen Jones today was asked on his weekly radio appearance if McCathy would be back next year no matter how this season turns out, and he said yes, absolutely and unequivocally McCarthy would be back and he is the future for the Cowboys. He also said Dak will be back, next year an that QB would not be in the discussion for the 1st round pick no matter how high it is.

I've never been more excited for Jets/Patriots than tonight.

Really bad football is a guilty pleasure.

Folk hits a 51 yard FG as time expires to complete the comeback and send the J-E-T-S to 0-9, a.k.a. just another typical day of Jets football.

    In NFL News...

    - Washington watched Kyle Allen go out for the season with a dislocated broken ankle and now Alex Smith will be the starting QB. Ron Rivera claims that Smith will tutor Dwayne Haskins as starter (why didn't they do this before and keep Haskins activated on sidelines ?). Rivera tried to say Haskins still has a chance but given so far its a question mark.

    - Green Bay was working on getting Houston's Will Fuller (WR) in a trade . The Texans needing draft picks badly after O'Brien dealed many away , wanted a 2nd rd pick from the Packers. But the Packers held off as the team would only have Fuller for a 7 game rental possibly as he hits free agency next season.

    - Atlanta released former 2017 1st rd pick Takkarist McKinley (DE) after trying to trade him. In fact Atlanta screwed up so badly with this it became a punchline that McKinley mocked the team on twitter. Last season he posted the team passed on a 2nd rd pick for him. This year the team wanted a 5th and 6th rd pick and a team only offered 1 draft pick. So he put a clown emoji in the post. Atlanta finally released him.
