The Texans former great WR Andre Johnson has also sided with Watson in his anger at the organization. Writing online that ever since Jack Easterby walked into the building nothing good has happened. Johnson was also supposed to serve as an advisor role in looking for a GM as well.

It appears the owner decided comically to side with his executive over his former great player on his team and his franchise QB in searching for a GM as we saw. As Nick Caserio worked for the Patriots when Easterby worked for them.

Green Bay. I'm hesitant though, I picked them LAST season and I feel they looked the part then for 90% of the season and then a collapse.

Baltimore. Tupac's Back and this is the only other dog I have in the race. Raven's D is not as strong as it's been historically but I think they might can keep it close. I don't think most people had the COLTS to win out right in Buffalo and while the Colts D is better than the Ravens defense if they get a few stops on Allen Ravens can edge them out. This is the game of the weekend for me.

Chefs. ALTHOUGH, that Brownie D is not bad, guys ought to be coming back off the list that didn't play last week I think.

The Old Bastard Bowl here has the least pop for me. I like Mike Evans is the best I got, although I'd like the Aint's to win and then lose in the Championship game so...

It does seem like if Green Bay gets past this game, then they are going to the Super Bowl.

Pittsburgh is entering an unknown off season ahead. The team has 26 free agents (JuJu Shuster , Bud Dupree , etc) and Ben Rothlisberger is due $41+ million in salary next year against the cap. Rothlisberger will turn 39 next season and down the stretch looked slow and very old which has big question marks ahead. With no real QB behind him the Steelers are in a spot as Big Ben is nearing the end.

DANG! That is 49er level territory in terms of turnover.

Its becoming clear the Steelers should have looked into last years draft for the future QB. San Diego was very wise as we saw. Phillip Rivers had gotten old and they needed that next QB to be ready. Pittsburgh didn't.

    - This is a wild situation as this is the 2nd time both teams approached a long time QB nearing the end and deciding to not draft someone. Both franchises spent years paying the price as they scrambled to look for that next great QB. Terry Bradshaw is known for his elbow surgery and he returned after so many months. He heard a pop in his elbow and told the trainer..."I'm done...i can't play anymore..." This was in 1983. That year Pittsburgh passed on QB's in that draft class as we saw. (Marino , Kelly etc)

    - San Diego passed on QB's in 1983 and 1984. As I posted weeks ago they approached the 1984 draft with a scout looking to find the heir for Dan Fouts. But used that to piss off Fouts at a contract situation , finally signing him to an extension. San Diego watched Fouts fall apart by 1987 and go into retirement finally.

It took both years to find a QB. Both teams struggled with players. They both would click in 2004 draft. But here is where San Diego learned from earlier as Rivers got old , they drafted a young QB to groom who stepped in and the transition seems to have worked great for them. Pittsburgh learned nothing and have no one worth a damn to start. Mason Rudolph hasn't been the answer and no one behind him either.

I read a story yesterday that Lamar Jackson has never played a game in snow before, and the forecast is calling for a 50 percent chance of the white stuff in Baltimore on Saturday.

I think that plays into Baltimore's favor if it does snow. The Ravens have a phenomenal rushing attack, and the Bills love chucking the ball around. When it gets cold, historically, the weather conditions favor the teams that can do the former more than the latter.

The Denver Broncos announced Wednesday that Vikings assistant general manager George Paton would be their new general manager.

Paton, who worked for the Vikings for 14 years, has been a popular candidate in GM hiring circles around the NFL for years. He also interviewed with the Lions last week. He agreed to a six-year deal, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

Guy doesn't seem to be 'yes man' on paper, he's been successful with the Viks so... I mean Elway's been about as bad as a GM as there was so he's clearly more self aware on a level I didn't always believe, or at least give him enough credit for.

Me when hearing these Watson Texans issues.

    Only 4 QB's have had 4,500 passing yards, 30+ TD's, less than 10 Ints & 8.5+ YPP.

18 in 2004, his MVP season, Colts went 12-4
Aaron Rogers in 2011 team went 15-1
    Matt Ryan in 2016 11-5
and Deshaun Watson in 2020 team went 4-12.

My sympathies for the Jack Easterby led shitshow they got going but sounding more than likely, HE GONE.

Lost in Watson's numbers is the fact the team would be behind and he'd have to pass them to try and get back into game. Its almost insane to see the owner just lie repeatedly to his franchise QB and then expect him to sit and eat crap. Watson is like....f-ck you , I'm a star and I don't need to be here.

In NFL News , it appears Urban Meyer is coming out of retirement. Meyer had retired in 2016 due to health issues and is returning for a 1st shot at NFL. He's won 3 National championships and this is his 1st NFL coaching shot. The Jacksonville Jaguars are finalizing his deal.
