I'm pretty sure Bazaldua was just told to draw a splash with a spattering of random mutants, he just happened to make a few poor choices. The editor should have asked him to change some of them when they saw the pencils. I really wouldn't read too much into it.

The worst thing about this book has been the covers. I really wish they had gotten a better cover artist bc it doesnt match the quality of the books and the layouts have been rather boring. The Dauterman variant remains as the best one. Its too bad he only does Maraurders regularly

Yeah, I think the same about when people talk about King Shadow being in Krakoa in Empyre: X-Men. I think the artist was simply told "put a lot of badass telepaths accompanying Quentin Quire" and that's it.

Idk this seems like a lot even for Beast. During Bendis’ run he was definitely a hypocritical ******* but that was also rooted in his sadness about Xavier and frustration with Cyclops. Beast all of a sudden deciding to be xenophobic is a new low.

This is full-blown McCarthyism. He's taking the actions of one person and using that to target an entire group and then parading them in Stalinesque show-trials in order to inspire fear and loyalty to government.

Beast was insufferable long before Bendis.

Honestly, I am not reading this but I have read enough other HiXMen, so take it with a grain of salt, but readers have been pointing out how odd it is how all the mutants just seem to go along with whatever for quite a while, I don't see how this is all of a sudden surprising.

Beast tried to sell the mutants to the Inhuman Royal Family because he was scared as **** of Black Bolt. Beast used the Black Vortex and destroyed Hala. Beast nearly destroyed spacetime for teaching Scott Summers a lesson. Beast created bombs to destroy worlds with the Illuminati to save Earth.

THIS is 21st century Beast.

We don't know what they are thinking either. What if they lost a vote and are there to make sure Beast doesn't do anything inappropriate?

We only know that they are there but not why.
