I go Spiderman a lot but what can I say I love the guy. Here is a great cover of Quicksilver giving our hero the run around.

    One punch!

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

That issue was a masterpiece in building up to a moment, and then giving the readers something they 100% did not see coming in a million years.

I am told that the French consider this, and not "Babe", to be John Byrne's finest creation.

Here's one in tribute to the star of one of my favorite fistfights ever.

And here is the fight. A classic dust-up, and with actual dust.
