A joke would be self deprecating if Bendis could laugh at himself.

Something like "you were trapped in a volcano for years without any emotional consequence, that's so lame", that would be a self deprecating joke from Bendis.

Bendis obviously couldn't do a self deprecating joke.

I liked the original game (including the innovative at the time plot twist) but not so much what came later including the spin-off comics. They increasingly came as across as DC milking a cash cow dry.

When I see these attempts to take a pop at those who've criticised them

It reminds me that they notice

Oh, and that I can't remember the last time I read speech from BMB that didn't sound like it was spoken by an adolescent hyped on sugar

Irrespective of whose actually saying it in that scenario specifically

A few years ago when Slott used to do it I thought this sort of trolling was funny but now I'm older and (a bit) wiser I think it is pathetic. -

It always comes across as immature to me

    Perch is a great channel

    Talks a lot of sense

Does Bendis writing Superman in Justice League give him any influence on the Superman books?

I highly doubt that. In fact, JL might be the best place to put him right now since he'll have very little actual influence on the direction of any character but Naomi. When you keep him on a short leash, he's actually pretty okay as a writer. Like, I'm actually kinda looking forward to his Justice League. As long as he doesn't have full control, it's all good.

Now let's see how long it is before he disappoints me like he did with Young Justice; another series where I though he'd do well.

He’ll have total control over Supes in “his” book obviously, but no, JL doesn’t dictate the direction of the character’s solo ongoings.

Bendis getting Justice League has actually made me excited for a Justice League book.
I feel you give him a team like that, he can make silver.

Eh. His X-Men and Young Justice books definitely weren't silver. They were....well...what's below bronze? Wood? They were wood. Honestly the only real positive team book I can think of from him is his Avengers run and that was WAY before his descent into madness.

I got hope for his Justice League. But it's more of a cautious optimism.

I don't have much expectations for Bendis' JL but I'm guessing he now has creative control over Green Arrow, Black Canary, Naomi, and maybe Black Adam? The Wonder office probably won't let him do too much with Hippolyta.

Aquaman doesn't have a book so he might be up for grabs.

He confirmed Checkmate was going forward as well with Maleev working on it now. So we should see some continuation of the Leviathan storyline. That may factor into Justice League as well given Green Arrow, Steve Trevor & Lois' involvement.
