It is! Wow, I'd completely forgotten that one. It's just as underwhelming now as it was then...

Oh, I liked that cover, but it's completely inappropriate for the omnibus. I mean, it's basically the Silver Age Legion, which would be more appropriate if the book was titled '15 Years Earlier'. I guess this looks more like Legion -- but the series looked nothing like the Legion. I would guess they went with something that showed a lot of Legionnaires, but again --- just a bad choice.

I looked around and wondered since that cover is presented as "not final cover" on some sites. But...yeah...AWFUL choice and completely not representative of the concept.
A re-presentation of #8 or #12 would have been most appropriate...

    ^ ^ ^

The cover to #12 was actually the one they used when this was first solicited as a 12 issue standard HC. They should've kept it.

Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #9 - As the new group gathers on the planet Winath, Roxxas the Butcher takes a look back at the origin of Laurel Gand.

That cover looks pretty good, but I recall the interior artwork was always so blocky. I was very happy that they introduced Laurel Gand after losing both Supergirl and Laurel Kent. I didn't like when the made a xenophobe in the Archie Legion books.

Legion of Super Bloggers review of issue #10 - reunions and total mayhem. The three founding members of the original Legion reunite on Winath while Roxxas the Butcher initiates a full-blown brutal attack on the new team.

If your jaw wasn't on the floor after this issue, either you weren't paying attention or you really just didn't care. One of my favorite issues of the series.

Caved in and bought the omnibus yesterday. Haven't started a full re-read, but skimmed through. I had forgotten how much I loved the story, as much as it destroyed some characters. Poor Sun Boy.
I didn't realize this was only Volume 1. It says it on Amazon, I guess I just never noticed. Not sure I will get the eventual Volume 2. Some ok stuff, the Spider-Girl/Jo Nah stuff was interesting, but I didn't enjoy the "Legion framed and on the run in new identities" that basically brought the run to a close.
