What book would you like Mark Waid on?

Silverage didn't just have goofy and corny you know. It also had stories that inspired things like for the man who has everything and the iron giant. Heck! There were issues where superman questioned his own need for violence, control, acceptance.. Etc.

It was also basically the basis for Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Superman and JSA. And those are probably the two most likely.

I would like to see him do a Barry Allen book because he's one of the few modern writers to get the character but, ironically, he has admitted that he finds Barry "boring" so I don't think it is massively likely.

They are now in a position where it is safer to just leave the marriage and that's it. At least because of Jon, they can't remove him anymore, because erasing Jon means getting a colossal ton of criticism, Bendis just changed his age and this led to the fact that his run was hated incredibly strong. So did the change in the tone of the relationship with Lois. After all this, do you really think they'll let Waid or anyone else do something? No chance. They will now do everything as safely as possible, judging by what they are doing now with comics.
The most they can do in the future is just arrange a divorce for them. And then, again, it won't last long, because majority prefers marriage, judging by the fact that DC listens precisely to this part of the fanbase. They killed New 52 version because of that, lol.

You say that... but they removed Supergirl, the LOSH, and his time as Superboy once which were all incredibly popular. They easily could remove Jon someday

If it's SHAZAM! great, I'd want him to acknowledge and use the new extended SHAZAMily though, not reboot again.
Although if he wants to make Freddy dark-haired again that'd be fine.
Beside one of the main hero books, he'd like to revamp.

I'd let him put together a roster of unclaimed adrift characters of his choice.
Put them together on a team of his own creation.
Come up with a new name and theme, no Justice League______. No Batman's______.
Something actually new, and a new reason for them coming together.

And as a vehicle for him to intro a few new characters of his own design.
And no - we want you to just changed the gender and/or ethnicity of yet another already existing favorite character and concept, cause It's controversial and clever. No, that is lazy, and unimaginative!
By new character I mean actual a new idea, concept and character.

I’m pretty sure if Waid takes over Shazam! He will reboot the series. He made a veiled reference about his dislike of the new52 version Shazam once. But I think he might keep the Shazam family since Waid has always been a big diversity promoter.

A non-Justice League-related team book would be nice, but aside from The Terrifics, DC doesn't really have any of those anymore.

While I do have a few major disagreements with him about the Man of Tomorrow, I'm still largely on board with the idea of Waid finally getting a lengthy Superman or Action Comics run. I would love that. He's a great writer and it'd be awesome if he got his teeth into the character in a major way again.

Years ago at Wonder Con, Waid said he had submitted to DC what he felt was the best Superman story he'd ever done but they were just sitting on it. If that's true, I hope we get an opportunity to see that story published.

I think it just shows that Silver Age concepts and takes can work in a modern context, it's all in the execution.

But even that show wasn't 100% the Silver Age.

Justice League has been obliterated as has the DC cosmology. So I picked Supes as Waid gets him and after Bendis it will take a miracle to get the Big Guy into good shape

No, I think he said he feels the same way about WW as he feels about Thor: Loves the character but doesn't feel he's be able to write her. Either way, your point stands.
