Newcastle have beaten West Ham 2-0 in the last day of the English Premier League to survive and send Hull down. Hull are 0-0 with Manchester United with a minute of stoppage time to go.

Hull scored twice only for the goals to be disallowed for offside. They were within a minute or two of each other. Wouldn't have saved them anyway.

What a result for Stoke, terrific.

Anyone see the Mike Ashley interview? Seemed genuine....

Walcott back, Stoke crushes Liverpool, and Drogba carried off.

    Oh good grief, no!

DON'T listen to that guy! He has been dragging Newcastle down around for years, running them into the ground and doing nothing to help them.

He has been interfering at Rangers recently and owns a small percentage of the club but he got into trouble for having undue influence at the club and he tried to take control via proxy but it didn't work for him and while he still has a commercial hold over Rangers until a £5m loan is paid off, he is a hugely unpopuar figure here and also at Newcastle.

He was talking total gibberish as he is totally unwilling to invest anything into any club he is involved in and just wants to fleece the fans.

A horrible man obsessed with draining fans to boost his horrid smelly little sports stores.

Spot on. Newcastle have got away with it this year but they are still the same badly run, unbalanced football club that they were 5 years ago when they DID get relegated.

It's just one badly constructed team and non-stop changes in manager after another there. The only figure that managed to bring that club any measure of stability was Pardew.

Match of the Day should be good tonight! Lots' of goals.

End of an era too, last games for Gerrard, Lampard and Drogba.

One legend carried off winning the league, one legend adds to his record midfield goal-scoring record, and one legend scored a token goal after a record loss dragging out his departure for 4 months amidst a million boring sycophantic articles about him.

Oh, and the deserved Champions celebrated winning the league by a mile, and were probably decried as boring by idiots. I shouldn't be irritated, but if Man U or Liverpool had won the league after a five-year gap, you wouldn't hear the end of it.

I've lots of respect for Frank but I think Slippy G is (was?) the more complete player.

Lampard was more consistant and dependable , while Gerrard was more spectacular.

I think a businesslike team would have taken Lampard, a more attacking side would go for Gerrard.

I like Lampard more than Gerrard but Gerrard is probably a bit better overall.

    Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
What we used to call life has very little worth these days. Welcome to the very edge.

Lampard has the best stats, people say Gerrard won
games on his own, which is absurd, but by the same token, he's certainly lost games by himself, which is sadly true.

West Ham have qualified for the Europa League, probably a curse...
