Default Ant-Man 3: News and Rumors

Well, we have the first news of casting in the next Ant-Man movie:

Marvel's Ant-Man 3 Casts Jonathan Majors in Major Role

From the article, the rumor is that Majors will be playing Kang the Conqueror. Which is significant for one character in particular- Cassie.

In the Young Avengers comics, Cassie Lang and Iron Lad had a mutual attraction. It was later revealed that Iron Lad was, in fact, a teenage Kang. So by bringing in an adult Kang here, I wonder if they will use Ant Man 3 to set up the Young Avengers- either for a movie of their own, or perhaps a Disney+ show.

Kang seems way too big for an Ant-Man movie.

Eh, he could work. He would play into the time travel enabled by the Pym particles, and as long as Scott only wins by the skin of his teeth, he'd still be credible.

I get the time travel aspect, but they need to be really careful establishing Kang so that you can still have him believably as a threat for an entire Avengers roster if they're using him correctly and not as yet another one-off MCU villain.

It's super weird to debut a major character like Kang debut in Ant-Man which is small scale compared to the rest of the MCU. I get that's where the time travel element was initially introduced but Scott will be punching above his weight class.

if or when something is officially announced, very cool.

for whatever it's worth, I doubt that Kang would be used like Darren Cross or the Walton Goggins character. My guess is a bigger arc related to the quantum realm is in the works.

Why are so many in this thread only talking about the possibility of Scott v. Kang, acting like Scott is the only viable character introduced in this leg of the franchise, and there isn't a team?
Both movies were about expanding the roster into a team-Ant-Man in the end. Or the Ant-Fam. if you will:

Obviously Pym and all the time and quantum Tech /science, suits, vehicles, weapons, and knowledge, he brings.
We have both Ant-Man and Giant-Man (either as separate adding Goliath Bill Foster again) or two in one)
    Obviously Wasp
The last film brought back Van Dyne, who adds whatever knowledge and unexplored powers (including mater manipulation?) she brings from the Quantum realm, yeah she survived in there and is able to control things that haven't even fully been explored.
And she shares some of that power with Ghost.
And although Ghost runs off, the scene before ends with them assembled as pretty much a family. Hoping to bring both Bill and now Ava back in the fold.
The post credit scene is implicitly them seeking tech (extracting quantum particles) and better control to share with Ava/Ghost's quantum location and phasing powers.
They are all part of Team-Ant-Man.

Not to mention armies of ants species, small and giant, potentially giant Tardigrades (yeah I went there, you know it's coming!!), and the X-Con (Antourage )

If Kang, by extension Chronopolis and the Quantum realm, expand into being a nemesis for the entire MU great, yet why do some still go on about this part of franchise like it's still just (Scott)Ant-Man. LOL!
It's not, they've created a great team ^. Lets talk about them as a team!

As you indicate, Kang is perfectly being set up to start as the Team-Ant-Man-verse nemesis.

Comment makes no sense. Antman can't beat Kang at all. It will take everyone to beat kang

Reminder that we aren't talking about comics Kang. We have no idea what MCU Kang is or is not capable of.

Cap edged a victory out against Iron Man. Not a hard concept to understand

This should be a much bigger scale than Cap and Bucky vs Iron Man.

Unless we're getting Avengers Assemble Kang.

See I remember people getting upset but the way it was shown in the story 100% worked for me. It felt believable in the that circumstance. Antman taking out Kang iono but I highly doubt hat happens. Probaly just an introduction to the character

Cap tag teamed with Bucky and a large portion was Stark focusing just on Bucky - that's why he let himself be open to Cap crippling his boot rockets so he couldn't fly, and they are in an enclosed area and Stark wasn't thinking straight. Ant-man's not going to stop Kang alone, he'll probably have help from his whole family, definitely Hope.

Sounds like they still want a big team in AM3.

    Young Avengers could be fine.

it makes sense to bring Kang into The MCU with all the time travel fun of End Game. But in an Ant Man Movie? I mean Kang should be a major threat and to see him lose to Ant man and The Young Avengers (If they go there e in AM3) would be a huge missed opportunity for a badd ass villain.
