at this point I'm wondering if marvel would ever release anything involving "in name only" reboots of these characters, so they could hold onto the name without the traditional specifics.
it would be revelatory to see exactly what's going on with that original contract, how it was structured.
always thought the protectors would make a great foil for the classic avengers.
too bad the protectors earth has blown up but they could easily show up in marvel since they are old centaur characters and a few of them have shown up in alex ross project superheroes.
My favorites at the time were Prototype (and Arena), Mantra, Solitaire, Nightman, the Strangers and the Solution.
My Top 3
1. Topaz
2. Choice
3. Ultraforce
Rune, he was deadly
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.
(Marvel/DC fan for 44+ years)
Right. After a set period of time, regardless of use or not. That's what "endures" means. When a person writes something, they hold copyright of it, period, for their entire life, plus 70 years. Or for companies, it's a flat 95 years. There is no need to use a copyright in order to keep it.
Trademark is what needs to be maintained.

And the show did a crossover with the show manimal! And Night Man. Who actually managed to have a live action tv show.
Marvel universe did have a version of nightman but marvel of course killed the marvel universe version off.
