    Default Viva Spider-man

When I was looking for information about the Spider-man vs Kraven film in another topic, I stumbled upon a few more Spider-man fan films.

This one is live action version of the cheaply made 60s Spider-man cartoon and it's just perfect. If you haven't seen it before you need to. It's just a little over ten minutes long so it's not even a huge investment of your time.

The guy who made it would later end up being one of the writers on the 90s Spider-man cartoon as well.

I remember first seeing a photo of this student film on the Toonzone website in an interview with Jim Krieg and it wouldn't be for another couple of years til I saw the film, but it is indeed one of the coolest fanmade projects I've ever seen. I love how it stays so closely to the 60s cartoon complete with reused swinging shots. It mashes up about 3 different episodes from the Bakshi seasons here. Just great stylish jazzy atmosphere on display, I don't know what else to say other than it's always a delight!

Here's a few of my other favorite Spidey fan films:

The Green Goblin's Last Stand is a classic- it's one of those things where you feel the passion on display despite the fact that they had basically no budget ($400). There's all kinds of crazy stunts like actually swinging from buildings and pyrotechnics, it's insane to me still. Despite being this cheap thing it's got a lot of heart and I love all the practical effects, plus dig on classic costume live-action Green Goblin! I know some people will say this is better than some of the real movies, or better than all of them just in terms of its authenticity.

Attack of The Octopus is a 2002 fan film from right before the Raimi movie came out that's a bit more obscure but it has Doc Ock pre-SM2 and it's really fun seeing people pull him off with a low-budget. All kinds of fun puppeteer work with his tentacles.

The Donald Glut 60s Spider-Man fan film is also a really cool artifact, just seeing that kind of fandom and low-budget creativity on display as far back as then is super cool. Makes me wish we'd get to see the comic-accurate early 70s, somewhat-budgeted Spidey vs. Kraven film for that reason!

If Jon Favreau is writing this you better wait until he hands in the whole script......
