Not really. You can name three great Superman writers right off the top of the head from that era. The New 52 Batman run with Snyder was mega popular even by Batman standards. Johns on Aquaman reinvigorated the character. Azz's Wonder Woman put her back on the map despite its controversies. King on Swamp Thing was a big success, counting as another character reinvigoration. Grayson was an incredibly well-received turnabout on the adventures of Dick Grayson. Regardless what one feels about the reboot scenario, it had plenty of good writers producing good runs for a variety of characters. Originally Posted by Jekyll

Worst for Superman based relative to what I've read is Lobdell.
Best is... oh this is harder. Morrison, Tomasi, Jurgens or Siegel. Byrne is good for what he did but I don't enjoy what he did that much compared to the other four.
I think I have to go with Siegel because his version is what convinces me that there's no way people will connect Superman with Clark Kent despite their physical similarities because his Superman is so macho while his Clark is so cowardly.
