Default Who wins in a war between Mutants and Humans?

So lets say the mutants of the world got tire of the attacks from humans. The hate. Lets say they united to go to war. Not counting Krakoa as I have read only a little of it and dont know that much about it. But lets say the mutants really wanted to overthrow the human race. Who would win in that war?

For the sake of this lets pretend the mutants are united so Xavier and his Xmen fight for the mutants.

So the humans with their massive numbers, the armies, and the superhumans like Fantastic Four, Avengers, etc..

Who would come out on top?

I believe that mutants would win, since they possess several that can alter reality and travel through time.

With multiple reality warpers and telepaths, let alone the elementals, it's hard to see some fatalistic scenario where the mutants always lose. Humans or robots, if Franklin, or Legion, or Jaime say 'no', it's over. If Magneto, Iceman, or Storm really wanted to, they can take down the whole planet. If Xavier and the telepaths really wanted to they could mindwipe/alter/kill every human with a thought. It is only narrative necessity that makes humanity an actual threat. Even the AI threat of self-replicating machines pales to their power.

If there weren't top tier mutants, and you only had feral types or simple blasters, ok, sure, but there are too many mutants with planetary(and beyond) range. It's simply not a fair fight(which is why you can get mutant suppressing tech at Walmart in 616 these days).
Let the flames destroy all but that which is pure and true!

Agreed. They would simply destroy each other and so much of the planet they both think they have absolute right of dominion over that it wouldn't be worthwhile. Pyrrhic victory, anyone?
The spider is always on the hunt.

Vulcan could kind of nuke the planet. Magik can bring a army of demons, Iceman could froze the world, while Storm send a couple hurricanes around the globe. And maybe the X-Men will let Magneto go forward with that thing he tried to do a few times.

Depends on how bloodlusted they are and how much prep is involved. If mutants wanted to they could eradicate the whole world several times over with their omega-level citizens. But let's assume they're trying to "pacify" humanity without obliterating the environment. Then it all comes down to the brainpower of the Avengers, FF, and other non-mutant superhumans. That's the only measure where they completely dominate mutants in. Put Reed, Tony, T'Challa, Hank, Shuri etc. in a room for a few days and they can easily whip up some planetwide X-gene suppressing ray or a Terrigen-based plague that'd wipe out mutantdom in days to weeks. And assuming the humans develop the same unified spirit the mutants currently have? You'd also be including the likes of Doom, Moon Girl, etc.

And it's not like they wouldn't have a thick layer of protection. ALL the thousands, if not millions of superhumans and military personnel from basically every industrialized nation, from Russia's Winter Guard and co. to the US' Avengers, all the way to Wakanda's Hatut Zeraze and the EU's Champions of Europe. We're talking SHIELD, Hulks, gods, super spies, and more. Can mutantdom defeat these threats and more before the intellectual heavy weights develop a way to depower them? Hard to say, as the only thing that REALLY gives Krakoa a chance is the omega-level mutants. They'd be doing most of the heavy lifting in a hypothetical war and thus would be most at risk to die first. If they fall to armies of superhumans and missiles then it's over. So it depends on how quickly the mutants can eliminate the intellectual heavy weights and I'm not sure they can do that in a few days or even weeks. Unless they're willing to basically make the Earth unlivable for any species, including their own.

Power dampeners are a widespread thing in the MU, Reed or Stark or T'challa can mass produce them and greatly improve upon there range and effectiveness. Deploy them in satellites similar to what the High Evolutionary did and its game over for mutants, omegas included. We've seen omega Quintin get depowered in X-force already. I'm sure Doom and T'challa already have contingencies in place to counter mutant aggression and after X-men vs FF probably so does Reed. Not to mention all the other non-human beings such as the Eternals or various godly pantheons who have an interest in earth that won't take kindly to mutant dominance. Also would Franklin really side with mutants against his parents, sister and uncles? I have a hard time seeing it.

Basically nobody wins but the machines.

The machines would be revealed as the true inheritors of the Earth, building a new utopia from the ashes of fallen ape empires.

Well you have to understand that now both sides have some big boy allies.

Mutants have the Brood and Shiar while Humans have the Skull/Kree Empire
