We've only seen three or four characters involved event on the covers for December. Folks can die plus the change in trajectory of character motivations. Will Betsy stay Cap B? Will Monet become the new omniversal matrix? Does that mean Saturnyne falls? What happens to Otherworld in the midst of this war/contest? etc etc. There's stakes even if they don't fall directly with the immediate threat.

I never really got the whole death=stakes thing from comic book fans because like, literally don't lol and even if it did there's more than one way to raise tension in a story line and have a lasting consequences to characters actions rather than just DEATH.

I mean yeah but let's be real solicitations are already out for post X of Swords we already know the X people win and with ressurection everyone is safe what are the "real" stakes, nothing honestly.

we actually know from the post XoS solicitations that the resurrection is not safe; from the X-Factor description: CAN RESURRECTION SURVIVE? The events of X OF SWORDS have put the resurrection protocols in jeopardy! As the Five deals with the fallout, X-Factor investigates those affected by the tragedy…

I'm sure the resurrection will be fine eventually, but there will be some consequences. The X-Men issue's description also suggest this: X OF SWORDS FALL OUT! The Captain Commander of Krakoa made a fateful decision. There’s no going back.

My only other main takeaway was that the Saturyne lady looks exactly like Emma to the point I wouldn't be shocked if they have some connection.

Those look like street clothes. I think the costume used looked better than how the X-Factor one would have in those panels

This is the most unique event Marvel has put out for a while.

And amazingly, Apocalypse is gonna be the protagonist of the entire show and it totally works.

I like it. X Factor has a more laid-back lighter tone feel to it so wouldn't really make much sense for her to wear that outfit especially since in this Mission she's representing not only herself but the House of M. Got to wear that battle armor like father!
