    Default Hellboy/Fearless Dawn

Intercompany crossovers tend to be a crap shoot and this is one that definitely crapped out. I've never read Fearless Dawn so I don't know if this issue was indicative of the usual quality or not, but if it was I doubt I'd ever pick up another issue. The dialogue was just plain bad, and the weird T&A Nazi Hench-women just made me roll my eyes.

I had no idea what "Fearless Dawn" was so it felt like an odd fever dream Hellboy had one day.

Sadly, I have to agree. But the artwork was radical, to say the least.

I found it shallow, fast, vaguely entertaining-- never read Fearless Dawn, likely not to. This was okay, but not even as entertaining as the winter specials (some of which've been pretty darn good, actually).

Hmmmm, sounds almost like a nostalgic return to the 90s team ups!

I wonder if IDW ever put out any feelers to try to do a Hellboy / Ghostbusters One-Shot or miniseries. It seems like a no-brainer, no?

While those team ups weren't heavy on plot they were far more enjoyable than this entry.

A poorly executed story. I mean, these kinds of crossovers are able to be thin and still work because of fan familiarity. You don't need to do any character work on Batman because everyone already knows who he is so you can jump into fan pleasing action, but if the audience doesn't know the character you have to slow down and introduce that new character before moving on and that wasn't done here.
