If they would introduce Genosha, i could imagine them intigrating elements from the current Nation of Krakoa into it once it's taken over by Magneto or a similar well meaning but radical mutant leader.
At which point a less continuity reliant version of the current story could be used.
After all, Genosha was original based on exploiting the powers of mutants for economic power. Combining the power of different mutants for certain productions would be a logical part of such an industry.
Which is similar in concept to how the Five operate as replication service or how Krakoa seems to copy the powers of mutants to create all the bio-tech like the drug production and wormhole gates, the mutants are now using. Only in this case willingly.
Side note.
I also hope that the current status quo, once it ends and everything breaks down, won't be another shovel on the misery pile of the X-men and marvel mutant.
It would allready be nice to at least get a look into a possibly future where mutants did become the majority and normal humans the minority and a stable (if not without still existing frictions) form of co-existence has been achieved.
Even if it wouldn't be the defacto future of the marvel universe, it would at least give a sense of hope that such a future is possible to be achievable and not every future has to be Days of Future Past, x2/x3 (Moira's 6th and 9th life), Bishop's or Cable's.
It could be argued that the role of super heros, which includes the X-men, is not to make their world better than reality, but to prevent it from getting worse via the same super natural nature of their world that creates them in first place. In that regard the role of the hero is not to prevent but endure the fights the writers throw at them.
But in all of that there needs to be some ray of hope, that the next day will be better, that the world is worth saving. For the mutants of the marvel universe the last 20 years seem to have been focused on clouding anything like that. So it's about time that ray shows up.
