Well, if we all ignore them they'll eventually go away. Or conversely, the mods could sticky them--then they would all collect at the top of a forum. I just automatically scroll past all the stickies on a forum and don't even pay attention to them. Kind of ironic that stickies are meant to make us pay attention to those topics, but stickies in fact have the opposite effect.
In reality, appreciation threads usually have a lot of cheesecake type illustrations of the appreciated character. In the past, I have liked them a lot---in other words I really appreciate appreciation threads. Is the cheesecake aspect of them still tolerated?

I have no real strong feeling one way or the other, tho I did just post something on the X-boards (and credit upfront, got a response with the answer I was looking for very quickly, so bravo).
but I had to wade thru an entire first page of individual character/idea "appreciation" threads.
so if the idea of combining all the "chat" threads into one to force folks to interact, why are the "appreciation" threads not forced together to force those character's fans to interact as well?
just wondering.
I honestly don't have a preference either way. . but I felt the question should be asked.

Honestly I was surprised to see that the X-boards lost their appreciation sub-forum with the new forum as they had so many of those threads. I think any of the boards dedicated to large/changing teams for at least the Big Two need to have their own sub-forum for the appreciation threads. Then those looking for them can find them easier and those who want to avoid them can.

I want to ban appreciation threads for characters I don't like.
Taking away the sub-forum for them under the X-boards was dumb. Not because of complaining about threads they don't like even though someone had to post there to keep them up top, but because the X-boards have a lot of traffic and it's a simple way to divide it up.
Game Over man! Game Over!
Yeah! I don't know about all of them but there are certainly appreciation threads that are often quasi chat threads with people talking about their birthdays and saying hello to each other sometimes for almost an entire page without any reference to the character they are fans of.
Thirteen of the first 30 non-stickied threads on the Marvel Forum, at this moment, are appreciation threads. It's kind of out of control.
Fifteen on the X-Forum. I think if something takes up half a forum, maybe it should have its own sub-forum.

So all should get banned for a few?
Is there away for there do be sub-threads within the threads? Like how under the CBR Community is CBR Community and CBR Community Q & A and Announcements
So In side would go like this Forums---Comics----Batman----Appreciation Threads----Poison Ivy Appreciation Thread, And others.
Not sure if I am saying this right, its late, so let me know if this is a confusing idea.
