Bracing the structure of a space station thats falling apart as its losing altitude following a short in a solar array while a cryptically depressed crew wallow in their own helpless misery is one interpretation.

More likely though is that some idiot has created a catastrophic failure in the space station by jamming snickers bars into the electronics and john is battling to contain a load of peanuts from busting out and raining down on earth.

Yes. When you turn to that page, you get a sense that the story suddenly jumped to a scene in outer space with Green Lantern.
