Default Top 10 Most Iconic Female Characters?

So I was recently in a discussion about the most iconic females in gaming (Lara Croft, Samus Aran, Jill Valentine, Chun Li came up a lot) and that got me thinking about superheroes, specifically DC because I’m a huge DC fan. Who would you list as the most iconic/popular female characters DC has to offer? I had to think for a minute but I have my list, curious to see what yours are?

    1) Wonder Woman
    2) Catwoman
    3) Supergirl
    4) Lois Lane
    5) Harley Quinn
    6) Batgirl
    7) Poison Ivy
    8) Hawkgirl
    9) Black Canary
    10) Starfire

Honorable Mention: Raven, Bumblebee, Katana, Batwoman, Cheetah

    1. Wonder Woman

    3. Catwoman

    6. Batgirl
    7. Poison Ivy
    8. Black Canary
    9. Starfire
    10. Mera (the movie had to have helped)

Hawkgirl was an honorable mention but I gotta put billion dollar movie over beloved animated series because the former is going to have more staying power to the general public. Movies "count" more, sadly. A lot of my favorites are not on that list, which breaks my heart, but I'm going from a "top ten some casual people may recognize" perspective. So no Power Girl, or even Zatanna who could be mistaken for just a leggy Vegas showgirl by some.

I think because of the "choices" the publisher has made the only iconic ones left are Wonder Woman and Lois Lane with Harley being added recently did to SUICIDE SQUAD.

It is like DC was mad max at Hawkgirl, Vixen, Canary, Zatana, Donna, Supergirl, Peege, Starfire, and Xanadu. And were it not for the potency of her iconic status I suspect WW would also have been dimmed were it left to the old guard. At least they are gone or going though.

I think iconic and popular measure slightly different things, namely recognisability versus numbers of fans. Here is my list of iconic DC heroines and villainesses.

    (1) Wonder Woman. No contest here.
    (2) Lois Lane
    (3) Catwoman
    (4) Harley Quinn
    (5) Batgirl
    (6) Supergirl
    (7) Poison Ivy
    (8) Oracle
    (9) Raven
    (10) Zatanna

Wonder Woman takes the top spot a mile ahead of the competition. I think the gap between Lois, Catwoman, and Harley is near enough to be indistinguishable, and they are in turn far ahead of the rest of the field. Batgirl and Supergirl are up there mainly on the strength of their parent brands. Ivy and Oracle earns their spots through their very strong visuals and themes, despite everything the DC has done to bury them. Raven and Zatanna are there mostly to fill out the field, I think characters like Bumblebee, Vixen, Black Canary, or Mera could easily be there instead.

I wouldn't call Harley "iconic". Heavily pushed, yes, iconic, no.

I am trying to think and visualize the 'Top 10 Most Iconic Female Characters' in terms of prolonged comic book relevancy, mainstream popularity & reception (TV, Films and video game appearances) and fan base.

    1) Wonder Woman
    2) Lois Lane
    3) Catwoman
    4) Supergirl
    5) Harley Quinn
    6) Batgirl
    7) Poison Ivy
    8) Starfire
    9) Raven
    10) Black Canary

Honourable Mentions: Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Katana and Amanda Waller

The Top 3 were easy since they are the most iconic, I would honestly say that Harley Quinn is more popular than being more iconic but she appeared a lot in both comic book series and comic book mediums well as having her own series I think number 4 and 6 are pretty much interchangeable, Poison Ivy is an iconic character in her own right, after Ivy, I think Starfire and Raven are next due to the 2003 cartoon series which gave them both strong fan base and mainstream attention both of them are now in a cartoon and live-action series. Black Canary is a strong character and has appeared in multiple adaptions but she is either in a cameo or used as a tertiary character (the Arrow TV show did not treat her character well).

    Wonder Woman
    Supergirl
Batgirl and/or Woman to gen audience recognizable but interchangeable.
    Hawkwoman
    Mera
    Black Canary
Vixen (surprised she's not on more (anyone) lists)
Harley has rocketed to almost dominate this list.
Huntress actually has a pretty strong mainstream profile, yet they keep shifting her look, swap her with one of the Titans ) Starfire
    or Raven
and Miss. Fury. ...I mean Catwoman.

Sorry Lois, you are one of DC's top Women, but Iconic to my understanding would include an incredibly strong, indelible visual component, be easily identifiable. and the pencil and notepad aren't enough. And unless shes next to the S she's out.

I guess iconic means the most recognizable in popular culture, that extends beyond those who collect comics? Hmmm, I'm strictly a comic guy (Not big into superhero tv/movies unless they're really good) but...

    1) Wonder Woman
    2) Lois Lane
    3) Supergirl
    4) Catwoman
    5) Harley Quinn
    6) Black Canary
    7) Batgirl (Barbara)
    8) Poison Ivy
    9) Mary Marvel
    10) Huntress/Vixen (They've both been on the Arrow show)

    1. Diana
    2. Lois
    3. Selina
    4. Harley
    5. Kara
    6. Babs
    7. Zatanna
    8. Dinah
    9. Ivy
    10. Raven/Starfire

And watch out for Jessica and Mera, whose popularity levels keep growing and growing.

Sadly, Vixen, Katana and Huntress are almost "stuck"

Wonder Woman (the most prominant standalone female superhero, in terms of legacy she is in a tier of her own that no other DC female characters can reach)
Catwoman (Batman's main love interest & most popular female fetale)
Harley Quinn (former Joker's sidekick whose popularity has propelled her into being written as an independent character)
Supergirl (long time supporting character for Superman but i put Supergirl ahead of Batgirl since she is treated more like a standalone superheroine than Batgirl is)
Batgirl (long time supporting character for Batman)
Black Canary (JL member & Green Arrow's wife/love interest)
Poison Ivy (Batman's long time villainess)
Starfire (Teen Titans member but i put Starfire ahead of Raven due to her being a love interest of Batfam member & the likabilty of her character)
    Raven (Teen Titans member)
Zatanna (one of DC's most prominant magic users)

The female trinity of DC are WW, Harley & Catwoman

I think Lois Lane, Vixen are recognizable but do not have alot of fans.
Cheetah & Hawkgirl as honourable mentions. You could have JL without Hawkgirl and Cheetah does not receive much respect outside of WW's franchise.
