Default Why did all The Punisher series come to an end in 1995?

Just noticed that Punisher, War Journal and War Zone all ended in 1995. What gives? Why cancel them all at once?

I wasn't reading Marvel at the time, what was going on?

    Looks like Marvel imploded.

111 comics published in January 1995
    https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Categ...995%2C_January
83 comics published in January 1996
    https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Categ...996%2C_January

That's 28 fewer, more than a quarter of the line.

Comic book industry experienced a speculative bubble at around mid-90s and went into pretty spectacular collapse if I recall correctly. Marvel actually went Chapter 11 in those years, no?

Here's a 13 part web series documentary on it.

    Context is king.

X-23's most basic surface level characteristic that any idiot should grasp: Stoicism.
I don't demand that her every minor appearance be a nuance in-depth examination of her character, but is it to much to ask she be written in Archetype?! This is storytelling 101! If you want people to stay invested in a character, you need to, at the bare minimum, write them such a way that they can plausibly be believed to be the same character!

    Bankruptcy was looming.
Punisher was among the early ones to go. Others followed.
