So does anyone think the multiverse is a good way to incorporate mutants into the MCU?

Sure. If done right. My preference, though, is that they were always there and then the world was made to forget about them for some reason. Either Wanda did it or the Illuminati or a bunch of powerful telepaths (Xavier, Emma, Jean). For their own protection. So some of the X-men have the same shared history with each other (e.g., Xavier and Magneto) and other MCU characters (e.g., Wolverine and Black Widow, Captain America, etc.) that they have in the comics. Everyone just forgot about it. Then suddenly something causes everyone to remember. Perhaps the emergence of lots of new mutants resulting from the energies released by the Snap. Something like that.
But a multiversal solution (e.g., a folding in of a different reality a la Secret Wars, like they did when they brought Miles Morales and his family over to the 616) could work too. It’s all in the execution.
Not true. The optic blast in the movie was pinkish with the white stream in the middle. Also, there were small and tiny flames in Origins and Apocalypse just because friction caused that, not the optic blast itself.
That said, Storm had a prominent role in X2 and The Last Stand, too bad we hadn't had any origin story for her.
And I must add that CGI mutants suck, and Beast and Nightcrawler look superb on-screen. The make-up looks organic, and definitely not "make-up".

That seems kinda unlikely, given the Ultimate X-Men are based on the original movie versions.
My guess is full on 90s. They skipped those costumes aside from the end of Apocalypse. Plus finally, actually doing the Wolverine costume mask and all.
spoilers:end of spoilers
plus MoM Xavier is clearly based on the 90s version
The tone of the ultimate X-men (the world is messed up, everyone's a jerk including the heros, everyone hates and wants to kill mutants on the spot) also just doesn't work with the general tone established by the MCU, no suprise given it was created it, while the 70's to 90's incarnation of the X-men comics would be far easier to adapt in their often dark but not grimdark tone.
It's actualy an interesting thought that they could use the early 90's version of the X-men as basis for their MCU versions (and later make retroactive movies showing their 80's and 70's incarnations), considering that was their peak point of popularity when it comes to the comics themself, after which the first Fox movie overshadowed the comic in pop culture relevance and when Morrison changed them to be closer to the movies, the team in the comic lost the continuity of their identity from which they never truely recovered.
So yeah, it would make sense Marvel Studios would try to use the peak of the comics popularity and coherence as reference and not anything of the post 2000 developments.
definetly not. That is a big mess and I think most fans havent realized yet how complicated/weird it would be to actually bring all the mutant species from a different universe. What about their past lives? their families? will everyone (mutants) move to a different world/universe leaving their friends, parents, couples and all on a different universe?
that is a mess and too complex. The MCU doesnt need any of that.
Mutants should be a part of MCU timeline, popping up more and more each year. Just like the comics did.
In the comics, mutants were rather rare at that time, and it is not like the two are linked. The Avengers and Spider-Man showing up and being established some years before mutants became a known thing is not that out of line with the history of the comics.
I feel like they should go in fresh just like they did with the rest of the MCU. There is no need for dozens or hundreds or thousands of mutants to just be all over the place. There is no rush.
In that sense, I might start with a Wolverine movie. Maybe don't even mention he is a 'Mutant' but imply it. Then do an X-Factor Investigations movie, delve into this mystery of people with powers. Link Wanda and Pietro in there, I don't think anything about their origins rules out having actually been mutants, and then finally uncover the 'school' and build up that way.
In the end, I just want 'good movies' and not a complete copy and paste of the whole franchise. Let the movies get to where they get to, just as the other movies have.
Most people here seem to want Marvel to repeat the Fox movies- start with the X-men established team for years, mutants all over the place, everyone living in the mansion, etc.
Mutants being dimensional refugees would completely change the basis of who they are and what alienates them from baseline humanity. Not a fan of that idea at all - it’s like an engineer’s solution to the problem, rather than a storyteller’s.

You could have them be victims of the Multiverse war. Their Earth/Universe got destroyed and landed on ours. They become a metaphor for the refugee crisis.
Unless you wanna keep the X-men seperate from the other franchises. So keeping them on their earth and only popping over for crossovers makes sense.
