X-men and mentorship

Hi all,

I’m trying to think at the moment who each x-man’s mentor and mentee is. So for the main x-men so far I can think of

Charles - well, everyone really
Emma - stepford cuckoos and M
Cyclops - Dani and Magik
Wolverine - Wolverine

Are there any others you can think of? Or maybe some mentor relationships you would like to see?

Magneto - Polaris -- was a huge part of her development and skill level up after 90’s X-Factor ended

One could argue Kitty is a protoge of Emmas also. If in nothing else then Emma changed the course of Kittys life and who Kitty has become as a person. Because of trying to make sure she never turns into Emma or do things like Emma would.

Nightcrawler- Cannonball (weren't for Kurt, Sam would probably still be blasting through walls and ruining floors)

Gambit and X-23

There's the whole Hogwarts house system they had in the Academy X era, where the X-Men had whole squads they mentored. Fom those, there are a few that really should be highlighted:

Dani - Elixir. She wasn't the typical mentor, but she was his legal guardian and looked out for him.
Emma - Hellion. He was her prized pupil, she looked out for him, and helped guide him. They were really close until M-Day.

For the longest time, I've been hoping for more Sofia+Ororo (XD)

Northstar was allegedly Anole's mentor, though the actual mentoring all took place off-screen (though the estrangement got a spotlight story).

For Wolverine what about Kate and Jubilee?

Lorna and Magneto: He mentored her on Genosha in the nature of their powers, politics, was part of his security council and took over from him when he was sick, he also invited her to help supervise the young O5 X-men, they have great potential as father and daughter and wish Marvel did more with them now that he is back from death.




Magneto and Ilyana: It´s not a mentorship per se, it´s about them sharing horrific experiences in their childhood and learning together how to become human and enjoy life again despite their past, he had a rapport with her when he was mentor of the New Mutants and they just get along well together. She is sometimes like: Get away from me, I am evil, I deserve to be alone and he is like; That´s nice, I am evil too, want to go home?
