What was the reason for this? She had been doing this since the Justice League cartoons and they somehow forget this ability for her first solo movie? Did Gail Simone argue for or against this depowering?

And now the Justice Society movie in which we have only seen super jumps in the clips! Is this a subtle attempt to let people know that in the future don't assume she can fly because we don't want to associate her with Superman? Except for a cheesy plot device in WW84 have we seen her fly. And only because she hadn't figured that out when she jumps really high that she can use the 'wind' to fly! Good thing she needed Steve Trevor for that because 70 years of her jumping high and it hadn't occurred to her until then to let 'loose'. What is her excuse (besides directors and the DCEU at large) why she didn't fly with her first appearance in BvS and then Justice League?

Good thing DC comics and the media in general have a solid understanding about her powers. One would think they couldn't screw something as simple as that!
It seems to be a running theme to go with the power set she had when she debuted if she's fighting in a World War.

She is not fighting in a war world in JL, bvs, WW 2009. Or in most agent of peace anbd sensational comics where she doesn't fly. Let's see if they ever do that to Superman in a movie. There you have another example of treatment not being equal.

Thank you both! I’m super excited. Hopefully this will lead to being able to interact and interview the creative team regularly.

I rewatched JL: Gods and Mortals

Overall I liked Bekka, it's annoying that (to no surprise) so much of her story is dedicated to her relationship with men (Orion and Steve Trevor) but it's always annoyed me that Superman gets to keep his Krypton background, Batman gets to keep his Earth background but Wonder Woman has to be totally revamped. I dont see why she couldn't have been an Amazon who was traded at birth to the New Gods or still tie into the Amazons someway to keep the WW feel besides the name and the man.

    I guess Amazon's just aren't cool (said no-one, ever).

Yeah, IDK why either. They could have also given her an origin similar to Grail. I guess they wanted to give her red hair so badly they changed her entire origin.

Given Timm's rendition of Diana in the DCAU, I can't say it's surprising a version he gets a complete blank check on is one that has pretty much no tangible tie to pre-existing WW stuff.

Plus, he's a Kirby fan so no surprise also he wanted to play around with more Fourth World stuff.

Well, she was still connected to Steve Trevor and fought a Mecha version of Giganta...

Yeah definitely an interesting take on the character

And nothing more romantic than making out infront of a robot head

I do actually like that Giganta design.
