Seeing what the 2nd Shazam film will be exploring definitely leaves a lot to be desired for the WW side of things. Where Shazam is truly exploring the mythology, WW went the opposite route.

It does make me wish we could get a WW/Captain Marvel cross over in the comics to better explore the similarities between the franchises.

I know the popular thing is to pit Superman against Black Adam but I always thought a WW and Black Adam conflict would lead to more interesting story telling opportunities.

Well, to be fair, even fans aren't always consistent about what they want the franchise to explore...

Same here, They both share similar positions and governance but have differing political opinions, how the world works or should work etc, it would be interesting to see the two interact more. And yeah, the fights would be cooler too.

Well, to be fair, even fans aren't always consistent about what they want the franchise to explore...

For sure but no matter what the Gods should be a bigger presence than they were in the first film and they should've mixed the two more evenly

I agree about Captain Marvel/ Shazam having some cool crossover potential with Wonfer Woman.

I'm glad the Greek gods are dead in the DCEU. Wonder Woman needs to show how awesome her unique corners of the universe are, instead of attaching itself to the most overused mythology in fantasy stories

Hate that even in these pseudo-parody/subverting-the-superhero-trope shows, the Wonder Woman analogue will always be portrayed as weaker than the Superman analogue. And why did she hold on to the living nuke? Why not just push him through the window??

To be fair this was a lot better than in the comic... where she legit got her head punched off in one hit. huh, which I guess Tom Taylor emulated in Dceced lol.

I mean she does live in the show, she just lost her powers. The nuke-guy (Solider-boy) was tested on by Russians since the cold war, that nuke thing created a chemical that neutralized super-powers, they were trying to do that with Homelander, it's a whole thing. In the show, Maeve was always an alcoholic with a death wish. She was originally optimistic and wanted to affect real change and all but, the world, capitalism, and Homelander basically broke her. Homelander is a psychopathic man-child who is basically the most powerful hero in the universe. Maeve is like the third. She was 100% willing to fight Homelander knowing it ws the death of her, if it meant "the boys" could take a shot to kill him. Maeve is basically Diana if Diana took the black pill and became a doomer/cynic.

The Boys isn't exactly known for its action. (I find most of their actions scenes to be pretty terrible actually, too many quick-cuts...)

I wouldn't really go that far with this. The show runners are very much pro-progressivism and are leftists. They actual did the best they could do for Maeve given her character and purpose in the comic. Like I have a lot of issues with the Boys, the treatment/messages they have with the women is not one of them.
