Default Cover Contest 9/30-10/6: Will Eisner Hall of Fame

    Eisner Award Hall of Famers!

John Severin, my chosen artist for this past week's great Kull cover, is an Eisner Hall of Famer (Voter's Choice). So this week lets cast a very broad net and have some fun with that and pick a cover by anyone on that Hall of Fame list (Judges Choice or Voter's Choice) and post any cover by that particular artist. Good luck!

    For reference:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...d_Hall_of_Fame

    For example, Charles Schulz!

    The RULES:
    1) Post One (& ONLY ONE) Cover that fits the theme of this Week's Contest!
    2) Cover must be from a Published Comic Book, Graphic Novel, or Collected Volume!
    3) Covers must be Posted before Voting Begins!
    4) Voting Begins 12 AM Wednesday PDT and Runs Until 12 AM Tuesday PDT (3 AM EDT)! (This is in US time)
    5) Vote by Posting the name in BOLD of the Poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most! A vote need not be in bold, but it does make it easier to Count-The-Votes!
    6) The Winner of the Contest is the Entry with the MOST Votes after the Voting-Period!
    7) It's Okay to Discuss the Covers but if you Think Someone's Entry Doesn't Fit the Theme or Violates the Rules, you Don't need to Argue it in the thread, Simply Don't Vote for It!
    8) Plus: Occasionally Voting will Result in a Tie! The Person Who Started the Thread will do the Counting that Week will Usually call for a TIE-Breaking --Vote from Someone who has Not Yet Voted!
    9) AFTER the Tie-Breaker Vote, Voting Ends and the Winner is Declared by The One Who Started the Thread (or assigned surrogate) and Thus will do the Counting.
    10) HAVE FUN!

Oh who to choose, who to choose...Matt Baker, Alex Toth, Al Williamson, Moebius, Wally Wood, Alex Raymond, the choices are endless, but I am going to have to go with the master...Frank Frazetta (1995).

but one no one will expect...

I used to love reading my dads Uncle Scrooge comics as a kid. So in memory of that I am of course going to go with a Carl Barks cover from one of the first comics I can remeber reading.

I'll have to go with Burne Hogarth; an artist and an educator.

If it wasn't for 2018 Eisner winner Rumiko Takahasi, I wouldn't have found my way to this forum. This is from my own collection.

So I looked for Sal Buscema to post the Frogmen cover, but no go.

Then I considered Gene Colan's work, but frankly that reeks of narcissism.

Then I decided on both Gilbert Hernandez and Jaime Hernandez with Love and Rockets 50 featuring some of the many reasons they were voted in in 2017.

Someone has to post some Wally Wood herein, so I might as well be "that guy".

No surprise who I am going with. Picking which cover was the real problem.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Standing in the hall of fame
And the world's gonna know your name
'Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world's gonna know your name
And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame

If Matt Baker ever did a bad cover, I haven't seen it.
