Default Most Gratuitous Fighting Setup In A Movie?

Watching Star Trek 2009 tonight and was stuck by how random and out of place the sword fight was with Sulu and the Romulan, all to pay homage to a single scene in an early series episode.

Any other examples you can think of where characters adopt a particular fighting style or of contrivance rather than plot sensibility?

I'm sure there are better and more iconic examples, but one that quickly stuck out to me was the battle on Cybertron in Bumblebee. Everyone's trading bullets and punches all over the place, and when the Autobots are nearly ready to make their escape, the Decepticons bomb them with extremely smart and coordinated self-guided missiles that are powerful enough to topple the tower.

Except, really, the Decepticons should have unleashed that firepower from the start. They're not above shooting their own troops, and the missiles themselves were very, very specific in hitting their target points.

Of course, if they did that, then we wouldn't get a scene of fanwanky (but still impressive nonetheless) G1-inspired Autobots.

Also, with that in mind, the 90s Batman films had armies and armies of henchmen all sharing maybe like one or two guns between them, so that Batman can fight them in H2H.
