LOL I agree with that. I mean... I like what one of the members here said; killing Matt off felt like Xavier went against his own beliefs in confronting a mutant so strong.

He had resurrection powers, and could affect multiple realities. why not train him to bring everyone back?

Claremont already did this story. Twice. Proteus and then Dark Phoenix. Both were amazing. It's been done.

Figure out a new story. Even Bendis did it already in Ulimate X-Men where he had Fury get Logan to kill that kid. Guggenheim even did his version at the end of Gold. We get it; some mutants really are super dangerous. It does undercut the 'oppressed minority' angle a bit. That's okay, that's only one layer of the X-Men pie.
