I prefer the way they did things in the 80’s and 90’s, but that’s me.
Agreed. Personally, my favorite will always be the 7-11/Slurpee ads...
Me too! It was definitely amusing when Cap became the artist for his own comic...

Most enjoyable of all was...

I miss the page of check boxes for all Marvel titles coming out that month.
The first appearance of the N'Garai (not N'Astirh) predated Alien, but I don't believe they looked like Geiger's Alien design until Byrne drew them that way in Uncanny X-Men #143, which came out two years later than, and was clearly influenced by, the Ridley Scott film. So I think DrNewGod's point still stands.
The monthly Cool 'O Meters (I know they're from the nineties, but I couldn't resist):

The original depiction in X-Men 96 (who more no resemblance to Ridley Scott's monster) did indeed predate Alien.

However, the N'astrih that paid a Christmas visit to Xavier's School in 1981's issue 143 couldn't have been more clearly inspired by the Xenomorph without a complete plagiarism.

More fun classic ads.
