Greek mythology is supposed to be weird. Mythology in general is pretty weird. Blood of Zeus doesn't really go overboard with it but there's one moment I thought was extremely appropriate.
My favorite example:
Zeus: Oh WOW I have a HORRIBLE headache. Here, take this axe and split my head open.
Hephaestus*: Seems legit, ok.
Athena: *leaping out from the wound fully grown and armored* Hey, pops.
* = it was, IMO, most likely Hephaestus but some stories make the axe wielder anyone from Prometheus to Ares.
Anyway, yeah I'm gonna check this out. Sounds interesting.
Or the story behind Hephaestus's "son" Erichthonius of Athens.
