I'm guessing Zeus being a mind controller has something to do with it.

But if he could control their minds then he would have had no reason to appear to them in the form of a swan or tree or whatever...

Greek mythology is supposed to be weird. Mythology in general is pretty weird. Blood of Zeus doesn't really go overboard with it but there's one moment I thought was extremely appropriate.

Zeus tricks wife of a king. Then she becomes pregnant with twins one zeuses and one not. That's Hercules thing. Now everything after that's different.

    My favorite example:

Zeus: Oh WOW I have a HORRIBLE headache. Here, take this axe and split my head open.
    Hephaestus*: Seems legit, ok.
Athena: *leaping out from the wound fully grown and armored* Hey, pops.

    * = it was, IMO, most likely Hephaestus but some stories make the axe wielder anyone from Prometheus to Ares.

Anyway, yeah I'm gonna check this out. Sounds interesting.

This isn't even the weirdest. You've got Aphrodite being born from the foam that arose in water when Cronos castrated his father Uranus and through his genitals into the sea.

    spoilers:
I Love how they made Electra's husband an abuser so there wouldn't be any discomfort about Zeus committing rape by deception via impersonating him.
    end of spoilers

Didn't that one happen because Zeus ate Athena's mother while she was pregnant with her?

    Yep.

While, "interesting", series just wasn't for me.
