    Question Batman Comic Questions

Just out of curiosity, do I have to read both BATMAN & DETECTIVE COMICS to understand what's going on or can I read one & disregard the other? I've been reading batman, and other DC Comics for 10yrs now and I'm trying to narrow my comic pull list due to financial reasons. Any help would be awesome!

Unless it is a crossover storyline, you should be able to read just one. I read both, but that’s me.

Awesome. Thank you. Tbh, I sometimes think the story arcs in detective comics are mainly backup stories for the core batman series. Am I wrong?

Depends on the era. Right now, it's basically a different take on Batman, and yes, the Tec story in Joker War was indeed a backup with the main story all happening in the Batman title. In Rebirth, Tec was a team book, starring the Gotham Knights. And at one point, it was Batwoman's solo book.

Very true. I felt the same way about detective comics rebirth.
