She's black and Italian, specifically from Sicily.

Punchline's make up and hair style is Japanese inspired. Even her regular haircut, the long straight hair with neatly trimmed bangs that covers her forehead, that's very Japanese.

I wonder if Punchline will ever become as popular as Harley Quinn, but even if she does become as popular, would DC/Warner Brothers give her as many opportunities that Harley gets, if Punchline remains a villain?

The whole idea of her seems to be make up for Harley not being a villain in the comics though and so Joker can have a loyal henchgirl again.

The question is if wider media will use her instead of just defaulting to villain Harley.

I think she will. She already has a design that seems to be very popular. WB would have to be dumb not to see the potential of having both her and Harley in the same show/game/film.

I don't think she will be as popular as Harley is now, but if they use Punchline consistently for the next 20-30 years in the role of Joker's girlfriend and Harley gets further removed from that role then it might become like a Robin situation. Where Harley's popularity falls some, since she isn't written with the Joker as much anymore, and Punchline's increases because of her close attachment to the Joker. So the two would kind of be looked at how the different Robins are looked at now. With Dick not being as popular as he was when he was the only Robin, and characters like Jason, Tim, and Damian competing for popularity.
