People keep calling her his girlfriend because it's more sensationalist. In my opinion it's more admiration than attraction borderline father/daughter:

From the mannerism to costuming it's clear Punchline is trying emulate Joker rather than being his next lover like Harley.

The comic even points this out by saying the Joker is trying to make a parody of the Batfamily's Batman/Robin dynamic.

I see your point I wouldnt blame Joker if he was interested in her but Batman is his one true love

I can't be the only one to notice how wide Punchline's hips are drawn - I'm not complaining, mind you, just that it seems very consistent.
    Does it need doing?
    Yes.
    Then it will be done.

I like this character. I really think she has alot of stuff going for her. She has design that artist like to draw. And a character underlining that design that has room for growth. hopefully they don't take the easy way out and turn her into yet another Gotham Antihero (we have enough of those).

My girlfriend is obsessed with makeup youtuber drama and I can confirm this felt so much like that I'm convinced Tynion watched those for research.

Harley certainly thought she was his girlfriend, but you're right. When he had Dick brainwashed as Dicky Boy, he treated him the same way he treats Alexis. Like sidekicks and children. Punchline is the Batgirl to Joker's Batman. Not the Catwoman, like Harley thought.

With the way her story has been going so far, hopefully this means that she won't just be a Harley clone and will actually be more distinct, as a villain that is as twisted, irredeemably evil and manipulative as the Joker, a perfect partner in crime. Gotham has been running low on fun and engaging female villains.

That's a good point. Even with DC moving Harley away from the Joker and his influence she is still sometimes depicted in outside media as his henchwoman, like in the Arkham Games or Batman Ninja.
If she remains relevant and catches on, perhaps in time we'll see Punchline in that role instead.

Yes, Gotham has been running low on villainesses...and that's a shame (that could have been avoided).

I really hope Punchline doesn't end up ignored like so many other of Batman's distaff foes.
