I have no idea who Punchline is. Eddie had to send me [a] reference. The artist's work looks very manga-influenced to me. I thought maybe she was Japanese. I had to ask Eddie what was her ethnicity. He told me Caucasian. Apparently a few artists have asked that.

"Eddie" is Eddy Choi, who as far as I can find is an executive assistant of Jim Lee.

I guess it doesn't get more official then that, short of Tynion or Jiminez talking about it.

Unsurprisingly a few artists have been confused regarding her ethnicity. Considering the outfit is basically "evil geisha girl" and her features could be construed as being Japanese, I'm honestly more surprised she's white.

That’s was a mistake and is an easy fix
If she gets portrayed by an Asian woman in the future her ethnicity will change

Helena being black is a New 52 retcon, so honestly, people drawing her as white is hardly surprising.

I'm not talking about Pre-New 52 Helena. I'm talking about New 52 Helena, black, and the number of times colorist and cover artists lighten her skin.

Caucasian? Idk why that word is still mainstream it's not a real race or ethnic category, it's an outdated word that's supposed to also include people from places like India, Somalia and Iran.

I know. The point is, artists might colour her in skin pale instead of brown because she used to be white before Flashpoint.
