Cassandra Cain and Emiko wouldn't count as "Dragon Lady" characters because neither are villains/antagonists working for another (male) entity. Both are also more nuanced then the molds that house your average Dragon Lady. (And Emiko's no more "martials arts-based" then Green Arrow/Oliver Queen and Arsenal are.)

Weird place to flex that, in an Appreciation Thread for the character in question. And also some silly nitpicks to hold against the character. And all in a medium where rich folks with no functional day-jobs unironically dress as bat-themed and other colorful, esoterically styled vigilantes and get away it, no less.

I think he has the potential to last long. Especially if he does turn out to be Red X.

DC needs more non-sidekick teen heroes and he has a shonen MC vibe.

These are my thoughts, too. And indeed, Bao has been high-key rocking some major Shonen Lead vibes, which I can appreciate Tynion for doing.

Wow, kind of amazed we made it to five annuals on this volume .

I can't tell if Leslie's grey streak from the Punchline one-shot is being maintained. She looks kind of older in the art though.

No doubt that Tynion is in for the long haul with Clownhunter/Bao.
