That's not his point at all. His point is that the Avengers have handled these kinds of things before, and often. Nothing about what's going on right now is anything outside the (very broad) ordinary for the Avengers to handle. If this really is a huge threat to the world, then ask the Avengers instead of actively stealing from them.

And they have telepaths coming out the wazoo. They don't need Xavier, Jean or Cerebro to give someone a ring

The Avengers don’t care about mutants. At all.

The idea that Storm would sit around eating snacks and watching TV during the threat is preposterous. That's what she was doing in the Utopia years and fans resented it.

Wolverine goes on a journey to hell and his all these adventures while Storm has to wait for a man to give her permission?

I also didn't see a "breakup." It's a story to be told eventually.

You say the Avengers don't care about mutants, but ironically Krakoa has been cast in a much better light in books outside of the X office. Captain American had a recent arc with Selene as a villain, and it ended with Shuri hauling her off to Krakoa with a 'justice will be served' attitude. Black Panther had long talks with Storm about the political and racial implications of Krakao for Storm and mutants, comparing them to the struggle of black people. Then you get to X books where its "I'm a mutant and that's all that matters" and actively disrespecting their former friends.

This. The situation was dire. Storm waited around long enough and then she went and took what she needed to save Krakoa and eventually the world. Was it right? Maybe not, but she made decisions. Something we haven’t really see her do in awhile.

The Avengers aren’t invited. Saturnyne prefers the mutants. Not an option unfortunately.

Its still this bizarre situation where its apparently a dire, time is of the essence threat to the world, but its not enough of a threat where they can let other people even know its happening. At no point did Storm even try to explain what was going on, just relying on them to trust her that its bad.

And if it really is just Saturnyne saying 'no you can't tell others' that's pretty forced and contrived.

There's a simple change they could have made to make this story work. Just place it closer to the time limit. If this had taken place on day 3 before the fight, everything Storm does would make sense. By placing it on day 1, Storm comes across as an impatient loon, eager to stab her friends and former family in the back.

But how would that work? Why would Storm wait 2 days before deciding to go to Wakanda? That also looks bad

The most they could've done to "fix" the issue is set it before Wolverine's journey or made it look like she took the wait option and only decided to steal it because it didn't look like T'Challa was gonna make it back in time.

At the end of X-factor, Magik was like “I’m here. Let’s go”. Wolverine was second. I would assume Storm and everyone that is part of the contest is off to start looking for their swords for the contest. There’s no guarantee that everyone is going to be able to wait and hangout for the proper circumstances. She did what she did. She owned it. And she was the third to join the circle. We have 7 more champions to join the circle. Time is of the essence.

Storm choose the safest route, She understood that she would be burning bridge. She could have thought of Wakanda concerns but the fate of the world trump their feelings. The choice was burning a bridge and guaranteeing you get the job done or Not hurting their feelings and maybe failing

People are over analyze things it is not an accident the story was meant to drive a wedge between Storm and Wakanda/Black Panther.

The character of Storm was beginning to have her roots in ingrained in another franchise. They are clearly refocusing where Storm focus as character is going moving on from that chapter of the character. Black Panther is getting a new writer and probably a new direction. We have the benefit of understanding this story was intended to clearly break them up so both characters are free to go in different directions.

    Agree

Hard Disagree she only seems like she’s over reacting if you don’t believe the stakes are real, which you as the reader said you don’t think the stakes are very high. If one is trying to save the whole world one does what is prudent and necessary even if it means feelings are hurt.

Is this moving on to a new chapter or creating tension between Wakanda and Krakoa that'll fuel a future Storm storyline? Clearly, this isn't the last we've seen of T'Challa and his people. Because the irony would be heavy if people are claiming this is Storm liberating herself from the big bad Panther man and his franchise only for yet another Storm arc to rely on her relationship to Wakanda.

But that's besides the point, regardless of the meta reasoning behind this issue (and I do agree it exists for the primary purpose of divorcing her from the BP mythos) it's not crazy to point out the contrivances that had to take place for this story to happen. You can like the writing, the end result, and still point out parts of the story don't make sense.

With the meta reason acknowledgement out of the way we can talk better talk about the story aspects, The story has some flaws, The big issue imo is that story didn't convey the time crunch or immediateness of situation well enough. I get some of the complaints but I saw jabs at that writer who had clearly had to try create a meaningful story while probably carrying a Marvel line edict of separating Storm from Black Panther which meant forcing a confrontation to this level. The story didn't perfectly execute it mission but under the context of the meta stuff you get why things are a little forced.

Even checking off all the marks on the box. The story was

    - Storm comes to Wakanda to be given or steal the blade.
    - Once rejected it was stealing time
-T'challa was meant to be unreachable
    - T'challa was always going to show up before she left to make stealing the wrong choice

We are comic fans we are going to over think the details that is our job . The point of story was did Storm make the right choice which mostly got conveyed well,Hacking T'challa phone to make him answer or Storm taking a teleporter to find him and get his blessing correctly aren't really options, If the writer thought they those things would effect the story they would just close them off. The desperation of Storm wanting the blade could of been done better but something tells me that we get some stories of people cutting it close to the deadline with their swords.

Considering that this is a shared universe in which she's a character that has connections beyond just a literal island, I fail to see the issue here. It's not as though these connections are somehow harmful to her character or otherwise damning to her character. Her and T'Challa have been back together for years at this point and it in no way detracted from her presence within the X-Books. It's not a bad thing for members of mutantkind to have connections beyond just mutantkind.
