I thought Big Barda's appearance was based off of Jack Kirby's wife, Roz.
I believe so, although apparently a bit of both, a visual physique element suposedly from Lainie Kazan
And the relationship "interplay" from Kirby and his wife Roz.

1970s-era Superman comics had minor supporting characters:

    - Gossip columnist Lola Barnett based on Rona Barrett

    - Talk show host Johnny Nevada based on Johnny Carson

    I am loving this thread.

From the Legion, Tyroc was based on Fred Williamson.

That's great, although Fred Williamson seemed obvious in Grell's take, never knew he had acknowledged him.
He also acknowledges the over-the-top high collar, buttons and chains costume after Elvis. Although the theme was more than common throughout the ere ...EW&F's Maurice White
All together was one sensational combo!

Grell - "I modeled him somewhat on Fred "The Hammer" Williamson, who was a movie star at the time...and gave him this "Elvis Presley goes to Las Vegas" kind of a costume, and that's pretty much it. That was the extent of my contribution to Tyroc".

In 1980, she was ten years old, so I'm thinking Starfire wasn't inspired by Naomi.

Bruce Wayne’s face in Batman Year One was based on Gregory Peck.

I think they're talking about a particular run drawn by an artist who noted Naomi.

Original Starfire wasn’t modeled after her but artist Rags Morales confirmed he used Noami as inspiration for his depiction.

Damn, Grell was telling the truth about the Elvis gear.

On a personal note, I gotta lol at the Maurice White image. Pictures indicate my dad tried his best to emulate White's image, but his lane was clearly more George Jefferson.

She was 15 when she apparently did the the cover of British Elle 85
But yeah to young to have inspired Perez's Kori, apologies, as others indicate, aperantly Rags Morales is the one who later used her as inspiration.

Perez's gen. was then fiery latina bombshell Iris Chacon...

Rag Morales drew her with Naomi as a reference in Identity Crisis.

No word on who Perez based her on but it's speculated that he based her on Puerto Rican show girl Iris Chacon.

That I could definitely see. I remember her on The Merv Griffin Show back then - she was hot stuff for us teens!
