Default If you're not into Metal or Endless Winter..

If you look at what's coming out in December, and if Metal or Endless Winter doesn't interest you, there's very few monthly books to choose from.

With the last round of cancellations ending their runs in November, there really seems to be a huge void of ongoing monthly titles featuring DC heroes after that.

I would also add the fact that then we will have a two-month filler in January-February.

Well it is nice to think my wallet will take less of a hit during those months, but that really stinks that they have decided to do that.

Can you elaborate on the filler months? Whats the story there?

To be fair, we still don’t know the full lineup of future state books, some of them could have ramifications for the relaunch like how the convergence Superman book introduced Jon Kent. Also Jim Lee went on record saying the Riddley Batman story would have a major impact and the timing of it being a mini series coming out in January implies it will be a future state title.

Only book I’ve been keeping up with consistently has been Morrison/Sharp The Green Lantern. So not much change for me to begin with.

I have an enormous backlog to get through so I'm not worried.
Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
    DC: Currently figuring that out
    Marvel: Read above
    Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8

It’s a bit complicated but there was supposed to be a miniseries called Generations that was going to do this whole big timeline thing and establish the line in the future...that got semi-scrapped but they’ve decided to go forward with some of the ideas they had with the Generations story in December and then future shock in January and February.

So essentially in January and February we are going to see who knows how many books set in what is described by Scott Snyder as series set in a possible future, the only books we know of at this time are Superman, House of El, Catwoman, Swamp Thing, and Justice League Dark

To fully understand it you need to go read up on 5G and what that was planned to be. When 5G was cancelled after Didio left, DC had to scramble to find a way to fill time until a “real” initiative could be put together. So we’re getting Endless Winter and then Future State until March where we will hopefully start getting the new long term creators on the books.

I went from reading a good number of DC books every month to currently reading none. I am mostly just reading back-issues now.

And that book isn't doing Future State anyway. It's already due to finish in time for the relaunch, Season 2 #12 being the finale.

Uh Batman/Catwoman if you liked Tom King’s run? Otherwise no. I suspect most of the big players are preping for what comes next. I’ll be picking up whatever Ram V writes since I love his JLD, but otherwise it doesn’t look like many of the big names will be involved. It looks like DC will be giving a bunch of new blood a shot since Phillip K Johnson will be writing Superman books, so you may find someone new you like.

DCeased Dead Planet is finishing in January, and I know the Nubia OGN will be out in February. The Milestone relaunch is also taking place in February.
