Late to the party, can have Halloween all year round.
In the more classic sense? I'd go with Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolf Man, the Lizard Man (Creature from the black Lagoon) and the Mummy.
Others: Of course you have the behemoths in King Kong and Godzilla as mentioned.
More modern: JP dinos and Xenomorphs would have made the cut for me. Maybe The Mist.
