Default Best DC Comics writer by decade

You can go back as far as you want - all the way to the 30s if desired.

Who in your opinion were the best DC writers by each decade?

That's tough. I'll take a stab at it but I'll probably end up changing it after others chime in.

    2010-2020: Scott Snyder?
2000-2019: Grant Morrison (Geoff Johns close behind)
    1990-1999: Mark Waid
    1980-1989: Alan Moore
1970-1979: Denny O'Neil (Jack Kirby contends as well)
    1960-1969: Gardner Fox
    1950-1959: John Broome
1930's: Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster baby

    Hmm...tough but lemme see:

2010-2020: I can't really speak for these years. I haven't read enough to be really fair since 2013. But I will go with Geoff Johns even though I dislike much of his work from these years. His good stuff was still better than anyone else in my mind.
    2000-2009: Geoff Johns
    1990-1999: Mark Waid
    1980-1989: Keith Giffen
    1970-1979: Cary Bates
    1960-1969: Gardner Fox

    1970s: Denny O’Neil
    1980s: Marv Wolfman
    1990s: James Robinson
    2000s: Geoff Johns
2010s: Really hard! The previous decades came to me right away, but I had to think about this one and settled on... Grant Morrison. He wasn’t as prolific as other writers, but between the end of his Batman run, Action Comics, Multiversity, and The Green Lantern, he edges out the other contenders.
