Hellions #5 - X of Swords Chapter 6 Spoilers/Review

Arguably the best issue of X-Swords so far and it doesn’t have much to do with the main storyline.

My initial response...
While it fits the MO of the team...the plot/plan to steal the Arakki Swords so that they forfeit the contest is...less than noble and somewhat pointless (as we already know the champions all meet on the fields of battle...nothing indicates otherwise.)
It seems very "filler-ish" for not adding anything significant to the XoS (that can change later on...) but still serviceable to the overall DoX ongoing storyline (which I have absolutely no issues with).

I know a few changes were made to the initial story-line during and because of the C-19 so...If I were to be proven wrong...and I hope that I am...I could easily see Kwannon unwittingly becoming the 10th krakoan Champion because of her involvement in this issue...that would be awesome!

If there is no 10th person cause Gorgon has two, then that would mean Gorgon would get two spots/fights/duels. Gorgon isn't that important. If they were gonna do that, they would've given Wolverine 2 swords, lol.

Makes more sense to me that a surprise addition will eventually be revealed.

Hickman is a super big fan of Gorgon and would totally give him a double fight. Hickman had Gorgon kill a God and beat Shang Chi in a fight because he's such an amazing swordsman.

It's a god damn card, don't need to mean a thing. But sure you can wait around for nobody to pop up I guess.

Surprise. Gorgon dies right at the start or even before the big fight beginns leaving his swords for someone else to pick up. Which ends up involving at least one of the Hellions (Psylocke).
Perhaps the Hellions are even involved in a loophole trick, because Saturnyne only called for 10 specific swords, not how many or who is going to wield them. So because the Hellions were allready sneaking around the place they get quickly roped into having to join in on the fight.

I have to admit though, i never heared of Gorgon before HoX/PoX so i have no respect or awe for the character, which is likely why i could imagine him dying so quickly.
Perhaps he tries to take on Annihilation right away and she shows how powerfull she is by finishing him off effortlessly.

Hickman, had an entire arc of his FIRST BOOK in Marvel, Dedicated to Gorgon getting the two swords named in this event, in which he ends up shattering both, while killing the God of Fear, Phobos.

The same way they swapped out Trinary and Glob for Rockslide and Polaris because they wanted to change certain elements from the story and FCBD (because of the lockdown and C-19). The character we thought was bishop actually turned out to be Doug and Warlock.
They could have already planned another surprise champion that has nothing to do with the initial set up.

LMAO! This might be the funniest issue of Dawn of X yet. Sinister getting sad about his cape, everything in the Council, Jamie and the horse, just priceless.

I am loving Sinister and Exodus' interactions. This was a really fun read.
