Cards on the table: I'm not the biggest Curt Swan fan.
I appreciate and respect what he did for 30+ years as the most dominant artist the Superverse ever saw or likely will ever see.
But his visualization of Superman, while revolutionary in the 1950s, wasn't exactly eye-catching by the 1980s IMO.
And I have a fascination with these anti-Swan types when they bother to draw Superman, a character who too often screams "all substance no flash".
In particular, the Image founders. Others too, but mostly the 7 of them.

Let's start with the most maligned of the crew: Rob Liefeld of Youngblood.
Honestly? I don't hate it.
This is from 2018, not 1992. Liefeld clearly got better at proportions. Though I'm not loving the "guyliner" effect here.
I give this one a C+. I might buy a single issue of Liefeld drawing Superman and his world out of curiosity.
