It at least sounds like Jason is doing this reluctantly. So hopefully there's more to him being with Magistrate than meets the eye.

I just have to take solace in that there's at least a lot of good Jason Todd fanfics out there that can tide me over until the main series comes back. So far the only thing about "Future State" that even peaks my interest is that fakeJon is evil (with the bottling of Metropolis and all).

...And nothing anyone says can change my mind about that.

Seriously? This is literally counter to Jason's character. A character that has valued his independence from others and working WITH (not FOR) others for a greater good if need be. But joining an a group that not only goes after criminals, but other vigilantes (a number of which he would be at the very least associated with, if not friends with) and representing everything he's hated about such systems, is once again, an awful direction for Jason. It makes no sense for his character. It would be like Dick going the "Ric" route for so long WITHOUT the amnesia excuse.

Unless there's a horrible event that pushes people to accept the Magistrate at the time.

well the writer for The Outsiders' story with Katana is indirectly connected to Duke, so I'm willing to bet that's where Duke will appear. the ary for his major work, Excellence, was drawn by Khary Randolph, who also was the primary artist for Duke Thomas during We are Robin. plus it comes right on the hills of a small Duke push from DC; Duke has a back up in Robin King next week, he's going to have an appearance in Death Metal soon, and then he's going to have starring role in Dark Multiverse: Dark Nights Metal the week before Future State kicks off. I think DC would have to be smoking DUST to not have him make an appearance.

As neat as a lot of these books sound, the fact that Tim is still Robin is enough of a reason to be thankful that these futures are no longer as set in stone as they were originally going to be.
